I first saw Jai 9 years ago during Navratri.
It was the first day of Navratri and we kept bumping into each other that night while dancing around and all we did was smile at each other. Later that same night he kept hovering in my mind while he asked one of our mutual friends about me . Following the next 9 days we wud see each other every night and smile but never spoke to each other. After these 9 days were over I didn’t have a reason to see him nor did we have any common ground whatsoever cause he was like 3 years senior to me but he still was on my mind. We both did some digging about each other and found out that our families already knew each other but somehow we had never crossed paths. A few weeks passed by and we got connected on Facebook and chatted back and forth non stop for a month before he asked me to be his girlfriend on the 20th of November 2012. The first 3 years were pretty difficult for us to meet or spend a lot of time together because our parents didn’t want us dating considering we were too young and we kept sneaking out anyways to either meet or speak to each other. Things eased up for us once I got into college as my Dad had a talk with me about him and kind of approved of us but soon after I moved to Bangkok to pursue Makeup Artistry and he was so supportive and held onto me through all of it.

During this time Jai’s father was sadly diagnosed with cancer and after doing every possible treatment Jai possibly could for him , he wasn’t showing much improvement , we were already together 6 years by then through thick and thin and that’s when he asked me that he wud want me to speak to my parents officially about us so I could freely visit his dad and spend more time around him. Our parents met officially in end of 2018 to discuss our courtship and immediately embraced us and from there we both took time to start getting to know each other’s family and culture’s better. I was lucky enough to get to spend a lot of time with Jai’s Dad and form a bond with him. A couple of months later we unfortunately lost him to cancer and it was heartbreaking for Jai and for all of us to bear that loss.
